Women, but also men, have been looking for the fountain of youth since ages and many researchers have done some experiments to find ways to slow down the ageing process. There are some tecniques which have been implemented, but the most important things you can do are being consistent in implementing a healthy lifestyle and eating habits.

You can't stop the natural change, but you can still look and feel younger if you want to work hard (not too hard though) to slow down the aging process. By taking steps to improve your overall health and well-being you will feel younger as you get older. Good nutrition, sleep, exercise, a good skincare routine and daily sun protection (even when the weather is bad) can help you maintain your youthful appearance and well-being at all stages of your life.

Your skin is the most visible indicator of your general health and the condition of your skin is often the first signal of illness or nutrition problems. Dull or blotchy skin often reflects a nutritional deficiency or disease. A vibrant glowing complexion reflects a state of good general health.

Your skin needs protection both inside and out. Inner and outer nutrition are really two sides of the same coin. It makes sense to nourish the body within to obtain the correct balance of nutrients, because a healthy body is reflected in healthy skin. A correct balance of vitamins and minerals is essential for a vibrant, wonderful and healthy glow to your skin. Eating plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit and using a high quality multivitamin supplement can do wonders for you appearance.

Your skin also needs specific nourishing. Skin also needs protection from damaging environmental conditions like exposure to wind, sun and pollution. This is why a regular skin care regime is so essential at any age. Our skin is the barrier that shields us from physical impact, such as knocks and pressure, and thermal influences from cold and heat.

Here are some tips to maintain a healthy, glowin and younger looking skin: 

1) Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to hydrate and cleanse your skin

2) Wear sunscreen the entire year around

3) Eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit

4) Top up with a good quality vitamin and mineral supplement

5) Be consistent with a daily morning and evening routing (cleansing, toning and moisturizing)

6) Get enough sleep. A good night sleep helps with the renewal of your body and skin cells, which means you will wake up refreshed and look younger. Aim for 6 to 8 hours sleep.

7) Exercise more often. With a routine exercise, you will feel happier, more energetic and confident.  After a while, you will get a healthier glow on your face which make you look younger and you feel better as well. Walking, swimming and aerobic are very good in this aspect, and to keep your entire body younger, you can also try some weight lifting, don't worry, you won't bulk, you just get a nicer definition of your muscles and you look leaner.

8) Have a positive mind and laugh. Try to be more positive since negative thoughts tend to make you look older and unattractive. I agree that you can't be positive the entire time, because life happens, but try it anyway, you will see what difference it can make in your daily life. 9) Start to look at your appearance. Is your body weight ideal for you? If not, try to fix it. Also look at your hair, nails, skin and teeth. Those are important because they show your age. Looking and feeling good will increase your image. Also excessive drinking and smoking makes you look a lot older than you really are, so, start cutting down these bad habits.

10) Relax. Stress and worries show on your face. If you can manage your stress your face will look younger. If you have problems with relaxing, try a few drops of lavender essential oil on your pillow, or in an oil diffuser.

My advice to look and feel younger is to laugh a lot (watch comedies) and to read, they both relaxes me and after I had a good laugh I do look younger and I certainly feel a lot better.
